Courtney Caplan, Caplan Miller Events

Courtney attended the University of Texas at Austin and started her career in Austin’s hospitality and events scene in 2000 as the Catering Assistant at The Driskill Hotel. Courtney quickly worked her way up and became Director of Catering at the Hotel in 2002. There, Courtney worked directly with James Beard nominee Chef David Bull and managed the catering, convention services and banquet departments. Courtney produced the property’s various large-scale and high profile events until 2006, when she started her company, Caplan Miller Events, which has since grown to become one of Austin’s premier upscale event production companies.

As President and Owner of Caplan Miller Events, Courtney has worked tirelessly to raise the standards and caliber of social and professional events in Austin and Central Texas. She has flawlessly executed premier functions for both national and local clientele. A partial client list includes Nike, HomeAway, UBS, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Scott & White Hospital, Circuit of the Americas, The LBJ Presidential Library and Austin Fashion Week, among many others.

In 2008, after attending the Glamour Magazine “Women of the Year Awards” in New York City, Courtney was inspired to give back to the Austin community and developed Caplan Miller’s pro-bono program, offering the company’s event production services for Austin-area non-profits at no cost to help them raise more money for their organizations. Since launching the program, Courtney has created memorable and successful events for organizations throughout the city, including the Anti Defamation League, A Glimmer of Hope, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Seton Breast Care Center, March of Dimes, Austin Film Festival, and many others.

Today, Courtney provides personalized, comprehensive production and design services for corporate, private and non-profit clients. Her extensive experience in high-end event management, meticulous attention to detail, and solid relationships with premier local and national creative partners assure clients that their business is in the best hands.

Becky Navarro, Pearl Events

Pearl Event's founder, Becky Levin Navarro, handled hundreds of events while working as an event planner for Whole Foods Market and for Vintage Villas Hotel and Event Center in Austin, Texas. She’s planned it all—from eco-friendly events with local, organic menus to fairytale weddings to corporate events and parties for MTV, CBS 48 Hours, The University of Texas and SXSW.

Becky is also a member of International Special Events Society and Nuptial Essentials Association of Wedding Professionals, a volunteer for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a graduate of Louisiana State University and an active member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Alumni Association.  In 2013, she was named Coordinator of the Year at the Nuptial Essentials Association of Wedding Professionals (NEAWP) Gala.

Sharing precious moments with clients is the part of the job that gives Becky the most joy and satisfaction. “One of my favorite moments is being with a bride right before she walks down the aisle. It’s so emotional, and it’s rewarding to help her fully experience and enjoy that moment, without the stress or distraction of event details.

Gina Whittington, The WHITT Experience

My love for entertaining started at a young age. I mean, what little girl would rather shop for linens and napkin rings over shoes? Moving to Austin and working in the high-end design industry solidified my love for all things textural, gorgeous, and fabulous! It’s simple: I’ve always wanted to make the world pretty.

In 2004, I was fortunate enough to meet the owner of well-established and respected event planning company at a happy hour. I told her I wanted to be her and she let me! After nine amazingly wonderful years with Clink, and hundreds of events, I decided to start a new venture in 2013– WHITT.

WHITT is all about savoring the experience of life - from the smallest of details to the largest of events! My passions are vast, yet all linked to entertaining: wine, travel, design, shopping, and food! I feel equally as comfortable at a Michelin-Starred restaurant or the "diviest" of bars, and seek both out wherever my travels take me. I am a huge lover of all animals. Pups, otters, seals, narwhals, and unicorns all make my heart happy! Ideally, I would make wine, cook for those I love, and have an animal rescue – all on one piece of land.

WHITT will encompass all of my encounters and adventures event by event, meal by meal, trip by trip – and, most importantly, experience by experience. Life is short, so experience it all!
