Cause of the Quarter

Reset Mentoring

This past quarter we chose to support a wonderful location organization called Reset Mentoring!  Working exclusively with Williamson County Juvenile Services, Reset Mentoring is a non-profit organization that was created to help teens RESET their lives. Whatever that looks like for them.

We have found over the past 7 years that one size fits all just doesn’t work. The teens we work with are as different as you and me. They have their own God given talents, dreams and future and we have found that for them to succeed long term we need to walk alongside them in their next best step.

We meet the teens where they are, whether that is when they are in placement or on probation, and begin to build relationship through weekly church services, letter writing, face to face mentoring, life skill classes and monthly fun days. Building on the relationships developed in placement, Reset expands their services further by offering more extensive life skill classes, once a week teen nights and continual one on one mentoring. We also provide assistance with job searches, academics and  assisting with their physical and emotional needs.Reset will continue to assist with advanced life skills and planning for next steps into adulthood! This includes budgeting, home skills, help with documentations needed. We also provide help with the college application process, obtaining a GED and trade school programs.

Stay tuned for details on our Cause of the Quarter for April-June soon!!

Event Professional Spotlight

Event Professional Spotlight:

Delores Crum, President & Chief Inspiration Officer, Premiere Events

Delores Crum

What is your job title and how long have you been in the events industry?

President and Chief Inspiration Officer for Premiere Events. I've been in the Events Industry since Premiere was born - the week of Thanksgiving the year 2000 - We've been at it for 17 years

How many years you have been involved with NACE?

We've been involved with NACE for 17 years. We jumped on the NACE Bandwagon early in our events career, since we started Premiere with no events knowledge or experience. Organizationally and individually, NACE contributed greatly to our Events Industry education - we'll be forever grateful for the help and support of our NACE Chapter during those early years

What has kept you active as a NACE Member?

Loyalty first and foremost. We're paying it "backward" . . . and forward at the same time. The camaraderie is also very important to us. We appreciate the organization and all that it does, but we love the people ! We've met, worked with, learned from and done business with so many NACE Members over the years - we're grateful for each and every one.

What keeps you passionate about your job?

It's essentially the same answer - the great people we get to work with. The Austin Event Professional Community is caring, sharing and giving - they're professional and creative, and they do amazing work. Being a part of Austin's most impressive and inspiring events, in ways both great and small, ignites our passion and fans the flame. We also enjoy working with individual event holders and helping them realize their event hopes and dreams and translate their event vision into a stunning reality.

What one tip would you give to a new person in the event industry?

Be a sponge. Learn to listen and listen to learn. Don't be afraid to ask questions or seek advice. You'll find that most people in the events world are happy to share.
